2 Polymer Institute, Section of Elastomer Technology and Chemical Fibers 10, Pulaskiego Str., 70-322 Szczecin, Poland

The paper presents the results of tests aimed at checking suitability and applicability of materials in the group of multiblock thermoplastc elastomers for electrotechnical purposes. The modifications in chemical composition of the materials concerned allow to influence their mechanical and electric properties, and thus better material suitability for particular uses. Special structure of the polymers considered provides more advantageous improvements in properties than the addition of fillers to polymers. There were main electric parameters tested for the series of copoly(amide–block-amide)s - (PA12-b-PA6.36)-n , i.e. volume resistivity, dielectric loss coefficient, electric arc and comparative tracking index (CTI), as well as the changes in the above parameters due to one day water absorption. The results obtained show the influence of hard and soft copolymer blocks shares on electrical parameters. Keywords: multiblock thermoplastic elastomers, soft and hard blocks, electric properties.

1 State University of Information-Communication Processing Techniques 2 Institute of Semiconductor Physics NAS of Ukraine, prospect Nauki 45, Kyiv, 03028

An influence of ingomogeneous subsurface region in spatially dispersive semiconductor crystals on excitonic reflection of the light is considered. A general calculation method is developed for this purpose. It is based on numerical integration of a differential equation system describing the polariton propagation through the ingomogeneous region. A special case of surface band bending caused by Schottky barrier is considered in detail. Theoretical results are used to explain the peculiarities arising in excitonic reflection spectra of b - ZnP2 crystals. Experimental investigation of exiton reflectance spectra of b - ZnP2 crystals has been carried out under different surface conditions.

Time evolution modelling of the surface cover for catalytic synthesis of carbonic acid gas

Carbon acid gas synthesis in carbon mono-oxide oxidation reaction is considered. Differential equations system for modelling the process is offered and results of solution of reduced system with diffusion neglected and constant reaction coefficients are presented. Temperature was taken equal T=520 C, partial pressures of incoming components were and for carbon mono-oxide and oxygen respectively. Peculiarity of the presented model is an attempt to take into consideration surface close interactions through surface close concentrations of CO and O2. Results were, as it would be expected: best incoming concentration CO and O2 is 2:1. Reaction product occupies space in surface close area instead of CO. Reaction time is about 2 seconds for best initial conditions. We also suggest using dependence curve between adsorbed CO and O coverage as qualitative index of best initial conditions. Best conditions achieved when the curve becomes a loop.

Calculations have been carried out of geometric and electronic structures of the ensemble of glucose molecules forming protecting film on the hydroxylated surfaces of silica nanoparticles. A glucose molecule has been shown to interact with two surface silanol groups (the heat effect is of 13 kcal/mol) due to formation of hydrogen bonds. The heat effect does not depend on the number of glucose molecules previously grafted to silica surface what testifies the absence lateral interaction. It has been established that achievement of compacter film using glucose molecules is impossible due to absence of free silanol groups on the surface.
